Steve Scheffler is Iowa’s National Committeeman to the Republican National Committee and serves along with Kim Lehman, Iowa’s National Committeewoman, in representing Iowa Republicans on the National Committee.

Steve provided the following update regarding his thoughts about the upcoming RNC Chair election about a week and a half ago. I had hoped to get it posted earlier, but the holidays have been too enjoyable to focus on other things.

Tomorrow is Governor Culver’s big Condition of the State speech (or “State of the State” speach, which some have dubbed an “SOS”).  We will be at the Statehouse watching the speech, providing commentary here at The Conservative Reader: Iowa, at The Des Moines Register’s web site and on The Conservative Reader Report (www.desmoineslocallive.com) in the afternoon at 3:00 PM.

Today marks the start of the of the Iowa Right To Life Book Sale at Veterans Auditorium in Des Moines.  The sale runs from September 9 through 14. 

This is one of the most important non-profit organizations in Iowa providing counseling and assistance to pregnant women.  Services available include financial assistance, pre- and post-natal health care, a safe place to stay, child care, and counseling, to name a few.  There are resources out there and there are people who care.  For more information, visit their web site at this link.…
